Being Melliferous:Artist-Philosopher Research as a Form of Repair (Part 1 of 13)

In the collection Salt, poet Nayyirah Waheed asks,

“can we speak in flowers. it will be easier for me to understand”.

On the sonics of bees, the poet Emily Dickinson writes:

“The murmuring of Bees / has ceased / But murmuring of some / posterior, prophetic, / has simultaneous come.”

This event of gathering and dispersal offers articulations of research thinking including and beyond text, glimpses of rhizomatic entanglements, tastes of sweetness, sonics of the hive, and the embedded scents of beeswax. Visitors are invited to touch, lift and peek under layers, taste a honey laden sweet, smell the intoxicating fragrance of flowers, and imagine flickering solarity released by beeswax.

Visitors were invited to take a candle and sticker or two to continue to wonder along with the artist…. about the future…. and what comes next….
